I have two children & to me they are my world, so when I hear from friends, that one of their children has tragically passed away it absolutely rocks my core. It is devastating, not only because I can imagine how heart breaking that actually must be but because they are so little, they have seen so little, they have done so little - yet here I am (almost) 32 years old and I readily admit I take advantage of the fact that I am alive, well, intelligent & happy.
So today, I made a promise to myself, I am going to learn to actually love and live my life. Sounds simple doesn't it? It's not. It is so easy to fall into a rut, to live day in and day out just following a routine, a process - we hug our children, we kiss our partners goodbye, we go to work, we go to school.. whatever it is that we do, we do it, over and over and over again without stopping to actually take in the finer details that we are so blessed to have in our lives.
Don't get me wrong, I am not sitting here writing out the meaning to life and telling you not to have days where laying in bed seems to be the only viable option, I am just asking that you look at the world and people around you and really NOTICE it/them. Start by taking a good look in the mirror and instead of thinking about how much you hate *insert anything here* find something that looks AH MAY ZING today & smile. You are gorgeous (even if you don't think so!), you are clever (irrespective of your level of education or your intelligence), you are YOU! (and no one can ever compare to that!)
Today, I looked in the mirror and I saw - me - & I was thankful! What did you see?!
Rachy xx
